Murray et al. published an interesting article on “The role of satellite remote sensing in structured ecosystem risk assessments”. Summary of the abstract: Global conservation targets need standardized methods for monitoring the changing status of ecosystems. Remote sensing can deliver ecologically needed and especially, long-term datasets for the analysis of changes in ecosystem extent or structure at various temporal and spatial scales. The authors review the relevance of remote sensing for assessing changes of ecosystems.
